UPDATE: LPD Investigating pedestrian hit and run crash

LAWTON, Okla._Lawton police were busy all through the night after a hit and run turned fatal.

The accident occurred just after 12:00 a.m. Tuesday when two individuals were reportedly walking east bound on Cache Road near 52nd Street. One of the two people was walking in the grass and the other was walking in the street. The person walking in the street was struck by a pickup truck and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital where he died two hours later. The pickup continued east on Cache Road after hitting the man.

Lawton police are currently working the accident as a fatality hit and run and will contact businesses in the area in hopes of obtaining security footage that may help in the investigation.
