Longtime county treasurer announces her retirement

COMANCHE COUNTY, Okla._A longtime Comanche County official is retiring after 28 years of service.

County Treasurer Barbara Burk says this Wednesday will be her last day. Burk started in the treasurer's office in 1986 and eventually worked her way up. In 2006, she successfully ran for County Treasurer and took office in 2007, she has held the office ever since. County commissioner's will now either name First Deputy Treasurer Rhonda Brantley as acting treasurer or appoint someone else until the new term begins in July of 2015.

Brantley is running for the position against Joe Worting in the November general election.
