Play chronicling Geronimo's last twenty years is sold out

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._A one-man show about the last twenty years of Geronimo's life as a prisoner of war on the Fort Sill Indian reservation is making its way to Lawton this weekend.

Geronimo: Life on the Reservation will play at the Lawton Community Theater Saturday night. Geronimo's character is being played by Lawton native, Rudy Ramos. He's been touring throughout the country for six weeks, telling the story of his childhood hero. It's a fact-based production that Ramos hopes will allow the audience to form their own opinion about the controversial Native American.

"Through this, maybe, people will give him the respect that he deserves. He wasn't a savage killer. He was fighting for his people. He was fighting for his land,” said Ramos.

Saturday night's show is sold out but they have started a waiting list. If you would like to be put on the list you can call the Lawton Community Theater at (580) 355-1600.

You can also give them a call to show interest for another performance.
