Garland Allen found competent to stand trial

ALTUS, Okla._The man who led Altus police to the spot where he buried his ex-wife's body more than a decade ago has been found competent to stand trial.

A judge made that ruling Monday afternoon following a hearing for Garland Allen. A decision was originally scheduled for last month but was postponed because of a delay in receiving the results of Allen's competency tests. Allen confessed to police last December that he killed his ex-wife, Tracy, in 2001 and buried her near Tom Steed Lake.

His preliminary hearing is set for July 22 at the Jackson County Courthouse.

Though the full scope of the investigation is not clear, the information requests make evident at least some of the areas that Mueller and his team of prosecutors intend to look into and also reveal a strong interest in certain of Trump's actions as president.
