VA hospital investigation hits Texas

Posted: Updated:
Austin, TX - Texas lawmakers are calling for an investigation after reports that VA clinic administrators altered data to hide how long veterans were waiting to see a doctor.

Texas lawmakers are outraged after discovering veterans are possibly waiting too long for doctors appointments. This all comes after allegations that the central Texas VA clinics were manipulating data to hide how long veterans are really waiting to see a doctor.

Lieutenant governor David Dewhurst spoke out about the claims saying it's disturbing and repulses him. Nearly two dozen other Texas lawmakers want the facts and are asking the inspector general of veterans affairs for an investigation to ensure our veterans are getting the care they deserve and need when they need it.

A spokeswoman for the VA made a statement and denied all these allegations, claiming they stemmed from a training error and that the error has been corrected.
