Ribbon-cutting ceremony held in recognition of city's new sidewalks

Posted: Updated:

MARLOW, Okla._The city of Marlow held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the year-long journey to the grand opening of its Main Street sidewalks.

The city's sidewalk construction project began in May of last year and was finally completed this April.

At the dedication ceremony, Mayor Brad Bowles said the new sidewalks are a positive step for the city.

"First of all it looks good. Anything in business, you need to have an attractive look. So I really think it's going to help the retail stores around here to have a more professional look with the sidewalks. You know, just a better atmosphere, and hopefully bring in more business,” said Bowles.

“There's a lot of brand new things happening right here. It's an exciting time to be a part of a great city," said Bowles.

Mayor Bowles says in addition to the new sidewalks, Marlow now has a new city hall, and will soon open a new elementary school and library.
