Lawton police officer recognized as Oklahoma's Special Olympics Volunteer of the Year

STILLWATER, Okla._A Lawton police officer is back at home recovering from her three-day torch run in recognition of the Oklahoma Special Olympics.

Lawton Police detective Tonya Criger was honored during the opening ceremonies in Stillwater Wednesday as Oklahoma's Special Olympics Volunteer of the Year. 

On Monday of this week, Criger ran the torch into Lawton from Hollis where she was joined by nearly a dozen officers. She kept the relay going Tuesday and Wednesday with stops in Davis, Norman, and Oklahoma City, before arriving in Stillwater.
