Woodard will stand trial for first-degree murder

HOBART, Okla._The Kiowa County woman accused of killing her fiancé during a game of sexual role play will stand trial for first-degree murder.

Sandra Woodard appeared in court Monday for her preliminary hearing. She is accused of shooting and killing former Altus radio DJ, Harley Moody, while in his home back in January.

The state called ten witnesses to the stand, most were law enforcement and investigators. The others called in were family and people close to Harley Moody. Of all the witnesses who knew the couple well, they all said that Sandra did not trust Harley.

All of Harley's family members who testified said that Sandra was, most of the time, a great person to be around but she was always saying that she thought Harley was cheating on her. Harley's sister-in-law, Sherry Moody, and Sandra became very close, so Sandra confided in her often. Sherry said Sandra told her she made a fake Craigslist account so that she could see if he was cheating. On another occasion, Sandra was leaving her house, several months before the killing, and said "a friend of mine said that I should shoot him."

Sherry told her that she should never say something like that. Sandra opened back up the door and said "I might just go kill him and plead the fifth."

This worried Sherry so she called her mother, who is a counselor. She then called Harley and asked if she had the means to harm him and he said, “yes she has a gun.” As a result, he took his kids and went to Olustee where his parents live.

Another time, Sandra called Sherry very upset saying that she believed she had spotted Moody in a video on a porn site and asked if she would go look at it to confirm. Sherry didn't do it, but testified that there were several instances like this that showed Sandra's suspicious nature.

Moody's boss at the radio station testified that there was one occasion where Woodard came in to the station without Moody being there and used his computer. They thought she was using it for work but later found out she was looking for porn because she was convinced that he was actually in porn movies and using computer software to change his face.

Woodard attorney's asked for a bond reduction but it was denied. Woodard will be standing trial in Kiowa County. Her formal arraignment is set for June 4.
