The Fritch fire is completely out

Fritch, TX - After burning through 225 homes and scorching over 2,000 acres, the wildfire near Fritch is now completely out. 

The fire first started Sunday afternoon on May 11th. 

Several fire departments from surrounding areas were called on scene to help Hutchinson County. 

On Monday the fire was contained at 65%.

Then on Tuesday the fire jumped to 75% contained and we were able to get a first look at the damage. 

On Wednesday the fire was 85% contained and residents were allowed back in the affected areas. 

On Thursday NewsChannel 10 was allowed into the burned area to see the damages ourselves. 

By the end of the week the fire sat at 90% contained. 

The other fire departments pulled back to let Hutchinson County handle the remaining 10%. 

Hutchinson County is trying to get funding to start the recovery process for the City of Fritch. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
