Lawton Farmers Market staying busy, rain helping vendors

LAWTON, Okla._ Organizers at the Lawton Farmers Market say the recent rainfall will prove to be a big help moving into the hot and dry summer months.

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start to grilling season, and many people came out to the Farmers Market Saturday morning to stock up on fresh vegetables.

“You really can't supply physically the amount of water you need to make a really good crop so Mother Nature is the best irrigating there is,” says Keith Hall, market manager.

The Lawton Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Great Plains Coliseum.
