Blackaby out on bond, court date set for June

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._The man accused of a fatal hit and run accident, then refusing to turn himself into police, has bonded out of jail.

According to court documents, Bryan Shane Blackaby has bonded out of jail. Blackaby was arrested and charged with first-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatality accident. Police believe Blackaby was driving under the influence when he hit Troy Magee as Magee walked along Cache Road, killing him in the early hours of April 22.

Blackaby brought his truck to a body shop where a friend of his worked to get it fixed. The truck was bloody and had what appeared to be human hair stuck in the windshield. The friend told Blackaby he saw on the news what had happened and that he needed to turn himself in, but instead Blackaby said he was just hoping it would all just go away.

Blackaby will have his next court appearance on June 17.
