Paradise Valley Fire Department is prepping for their annual fish fry

Posted: Updated:

MEERS, Okla._Paradise Valley firefighters are turning up the heat for the department's 13th annual fish fry.

The department receives nearly 50 percent of its yearly funding from this event alone. They use that money for maintenance, new uniforms and to repair their fire trucks. That's why they're hoping the community will come out as it has in the past to enjoy a fish dinner with all the fixings or even some barbecue.

"We're very excited, it's our annual fundraiser. It's the opportunity for the people that live in the community and other places that would like to support us and to help us out," said Paradise Valley Fire Chief Doug Wright.

Last year, the station had a turnout of over 500 people and they have already stocked up around 62 gallons of fish.

The event is donation only and will be held Saturday, June 7, at the Paradise Valley Fire Station located at 6851 NW Meers-Porter Hill Road from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
