Miss Enid crowned Miss Oklahoma 2014

TULSA, Okla._The Sooner State officially has new royalty.

Alexandra Eppler of Enid has been named Miss Oklahoma 2014.

Eppler competed as Miss Enid and beat out 47 other contestants for the title in Tulsa Saturday night. She's a graduate of Oklahoma University and for her talent, she did an interpretive dance to "Wonderland."

Eppler will receive a $16,000 scholarship and will compete in the Miss America pageant on September 14.

First runner-up was Miss Okmulgee, Georgia Frazier. Sarah Klein, competing as Miss Tulsa, was second runner-up. Jamie Butemeyer, Miss Bricktown, was third runner-up. Jordan Smith, competing as Miss Oklahoma City, was fourth runner-up.

    A Fort Sill soldier is recovering following a rollover crash near Chickasha. It happened early Sunday morning just after 4:00 a.m. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the soldier was headed east on I-44 when he fell asleep behind the wheel. His vehicle ran off the road, hit an embankment then rolled into the westbound lanes where it was hit by a pickup truck. One person in the truck was taken to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue.
