City worker attacked by pit bulls

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._ A city water employee was viciously attacked by two pit bulls while on the job late this afternoon.

The worker was in the process of restoring water to a home on SW Park Avenue when he was attacked. He was able to eventually get away, but he did suffer significant injuries to his head, arms and legs.

The man was taken to the hospital where he received a number of staples and was then released. The city's animal control department seized the dogs.

Their owner says one of her pit bulls is known to bite. She told 7News that she plans to get her dogs back when, or if, they are released by the city's animal welfare department.
