Posted: Updated:

JACKSON COUNTY, Okla._Nearly a dozen people were arrested on drug charges and outstanding warrants for other crimes.

In a wide-reaching raid in Jackson and Harmon counties Friday, eight individuals were arrested on drug charges, while three others were arrested on various outstanding warrants for other crimes.

Jackson County District Attorney John Wampler released a statement following the raid, saying, “These arrests are a continuation of the stepped-up effort that began several months ago to hit street level drug dealers and bring them to justice. I appreciate the cooperation and combined effort by all the law enforcement agencies involved in this operation."

Members of the District 3 Drug Task Force, along with Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Jackson and Harmon County sheriff's departments, and the Hollis and Altus police departments worked together on the busts.
