"Fill The Boot" campaign kicks off to help Muscular Dystrophy Association

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - The Amarillo Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 542, along with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, celebrates their 60-year partnership by kicking off the fire fighters' annual "Fill the Boot" fundraising campaign.

The campaign benefits children and adults affected by muscle disease throughout Amarillo.

More than 200 members of the AFD will fan out across the city, with boots in hand, collecting donations for this year's drive beginning June 1921 at 10 a.m.

You can donate money at the intersections of Ross and I-40, Bell & 34th, and Coulter and 45th.

All funds raised through 2014 Amarillo "Fill the Boot" events will go toward supporting MDA's programs of worldwide research, specialized health care services and a day-to-day support, which includes sending children affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to a week-long, barrier-free MDA summer camp at Ceta Canyon Retreat in Happy, Texas.
