Spirit of Survival participants get jump-start

LAWTON, Okla._More than 200 Spirit of Survival participants got a jump-start on race training at Comanche County Memorial Hospital.

The training workshop kicks off the Spirit of Survival's 12-week training program. It's meant to guide runners and walkers all the way to the race's finish line in October.

"I think it's great for us as runners and as a community as a whole, go over some things and learn what we can do to get better and then also meet different people you can train with cause it's always better to have a training partner and what's great about the SOS these training groups on Saturday, if you can get with them it's going to be much easier than training on your own."

Aguero gave Tuesday’s crowd a pep talk to get them excited for the race, and training tips to help guide them through the 12-week training series.
