State court will not hear judge's challenge

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The state Supreme Court will not hear the case of an Oklahoma County district judge who wants his opponent's name removed from the election ballot.

District Judge Donald Deason argues that attorney Orenthel Denson hopes to receive votes intended for Deason because of the similarity of their last names. Deason asked the state Supreme Court to take the case after the state election board in April denied his challenge to Denson's candidacy.

Denson told The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1qAZyaA ) that he isn't surprised by the court's decision. Deason declined comment on Wednesday.
