Man arrested on a plethora of charges after accident

LAWTON, Okla._A Lawton man involved in a car accident Wednesday night is accused of trying to hide a gun and drugs before police arrived.

It happened at the intersection of 52nd Street and Lee Boulevard just after 9:00 p.m. A witness told police that the man involved in the accident was in a nearby business’s back parking lot. Police said the man, Robert Alexander, was trying to hide a gun and a bag of marijuana in the bushes. They quickly found the gun and the drugs in the bushes because of the green light emitted from the gun’s rail mounted laser sight.

Alexander was arrested on multiple charges including reckless driving, not having insurance, expired registration, leaving the scene of an accident, an outstanding warrant, possession of a firearm after a felony, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, and the possession of stolen property.
