Injuries claim woman's life

AMARILLO - An Amarillo woman is dead after sustaining injuries that occurred from exiting a moving vehicle.

Florinda Marez, 19, jumped out of a traveling car after a dispute with a vehicle's driver, 21-year-old Jabarel Trevel Mills. Police responded to the call around 4:00 A.M. on July 2nd. Marez was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. She passed away Thursday evening.

Mills and Marez were traveling westbound on the 1700 block of Lindbergh St. when the incident occurred.

    A construction worker's boss is speaking out this morning after that worker was hit and left in critical condition in Blanchard. The man was directing drivers through a construction zone and had one car stopped when he saw a pick-up approaching. His boss said he got the other car off the road in time when he realized the truck was not going to stop.

    Tulsa police say they believe a woman found dead in a dumpster behind a restaurant may have been homeless. She was discovered after employees found blood outside their front door and followed drag marks to the dumpster. Police said there were no visible gunshot or knife wounds. They are waiting on a cause of death to be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.
