Posted: Updated:

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) - Rose State College is offering free English as a Second Language workshops beginning in the fall semester.

The workshops include tutoring for both students and members of the central Oklahoma community. The sessions begin Aug. 25.

The goal is to help students at Rose State who are non-native speakers of English to be successful in their course work.

But the college will also welcome high school students preparing for college admission as well as other members of the Oklahoma City area who want to improve their English language skills.

Students can choose to focus on instruction in such areas as vocabulary, reading, pronunciation, advanced grammar, listening, diction and academic writing conventions.

Students may attend as many sessions as they wish. Students are not required to register.
