APD arrests auto burglary suspect

AMARILLO - An Amarillo man is under arrest after stealing an ice chest from a parked truck at a hotel.

Amarillo Police officers were checking the parking lot of a La Quinta Inn location on S. Coulter early Friday morning when they noticed suspicious behavior from a man later identified as Earman Eugene Gilbreath, 58.

Gilbreath was parked behind a silver pickup truck, appearing to remove an ice chest from the bed and walking back to his Cadillac. The ice chest was identified as stolen property of one of the hotel's guests.

Gilbreath is booked into the Potter County Detention Center on a charge of burglary of a vehicle with two or more previous convictions.
