Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla._ Police uncovered drugs and money in an SUV belonging to a driver who ran from them.

The arrest was made after special operation officers tried to stop the driver of an SUV during a routine traffic stop at NW 44th Street and Baltimore Avenue, just north of Cache Rd. The driver refused to stop before bailing out of his vehicle and running. Police chased him about half a block when officers saw him toss a sack of marijuana over a fence. The suspect ran through an alley and into a bowling alley parking lot where he was arrested.

Officers recovered a total of 35.9 grams of marijuana.
