Autopsy report expanded in officer involved shooting

LAWTON, Okla._New information has been released in the case of a Lawton man who was shot and killed by police in March.

Lab results show Daniel Martin had 2.8 mcg/mL of methamphetamine and 0.32 mcg/mL of amphetamine in his system when he was shot by police. Last month, an autopsy report confirmed Martin's cause of death was multiple gun shot wounds.

The incident started with a call about vandalism at a house in southwest Lawton. When police arrived, they couldn't get anyone to answer the door and they heard a gunshot inside. Police said when Martin finally opened the door, they saw he had a gun and they opened fire, killing him. The autopsy report said Martin was shot 9 times, and was hit in the head, chest, and abdomen. The report also said tests for alcohol showed up negative.

Both officers involved in the shooting are back on duty with the Lawton Police Department.
