San Antonio, TX - Texas rainstorms have forced evacuation of a hotel, flooded roads, and stranded campers.
Investigators say lightning blew a hole in the roof of a Holiday Inn in San Antonio. About 50 guests were evacuated safely, and firefighters were able to put out the flames.
Forecasters say the San Antonio and Austin region caught almost three inches of rain in their gauges since Thursday night. Streets flooded in the downpour.
Austin-Travis County EMS reports an estimated dozen campers were stranded Friday after their boats floated away during Colorado River flooding.
A helicopter transported the men to land, and no injuries were reported.Around 11,000 CPS Energy customers in the San Antonio area lost electricity Friday.
