Driver T-boned, pinned inside her vehicle

LAWTON, Okla._ A driver who was pinned inside her truck for more than a half hour Saturday afternoon is expected to make a full recovery, according to Lawton Police.

The woman was involved in a three-car accident on Sheridan Road in Lawton just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Those who saw the accident unfold tell 7 News the female driver of the flipped pickup was in the northbound lane on Sheridan Road, and when she tried to make a left hand turn a white four-door car in the oncoming southbound lane couldn't slow down in time.

That driver say he slammed on his breaks, but the impact was so hard the truck flipped onto another truck waiting at a stop sign.

The people in that truck say it all happened in a split second.

“We were just bracing ourselves; we seen it happen; we were just bracing ourselves,” said Charlotte Nelon, of Moore.

“We were hoping that it wasn't going to come through the windshield and thank God it didn't. When you see something coming at you that you think is going to come through your windshield, yeah, it's scary,” said Carla Hoffman, who was the driving the pickup that was struck.

Traffic was shut down for more than an hour on northwest Sheridan Road from Walmart/Aldi Road to Cache Road.
