Preliminary hearing waived in deadly hit-and-run case

LAWTON, Okla._A Lawton woman charged in a deadly hit-and-run waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors said Chelsea Webb was driving on west Cache Road in the early-morning hours when she hit and killed a soldier who was walking along the street. Webb never stopped. When she was questioned by police, she said she thought she had hit an animal. Court documents show Webb had cocaine in her system and that she also tested above the legal limit for alcohol.

She will now find out her trial date at her formal arraignment at the end of the month
