Woman arrested in connection to recent robbery

LAWTON, Okla._An arrest was made in connection to recent string of armed robberies under investigation by Lawton police.

A woman was charged Tuesday, with first-degree robbery for a crime committed last week outside a bar on north North Sheridan Rd. Prosecutors say Nijee Johnson held up two women at gunpoint and stole a purse from one of them. Investigators were tipped off by a person who said Johnson and her  former roommates were involved with the robbery. The informant identified Johnson after watching surveillance video of the robbery, and also identified the vehicle that was used.

Johnson is being held on $50,000 bond. Investigators have not said if they expect further charges to be filed as a result of this arrest.

Last week, police released a series of pictures of a blue, 4-door car that had reportedly been involved in nine separate crimes in a little more than a week.
