Amarillo College names new president

Amarillo, TX - The Vice President of Academic Affairs has emerged as the regents choice to become the 14th president of Amarillo College.

Russell Lowery-Hart has become the sole finalist to take over for Paul Matney, who retired back in April.

Matney served as the school's president since 2009.

Lowery-Hart obtained his bachelors degree in 1991 from West Texas A&M University.

He then went on to obtain a masters degree in 1993 from Texas Tech and a doctoral degree in 1996 from Ohio University.
