Seeking donations to upgrade building

Texas A&M Agrilife has teamed up with the Randall County Livestock show to raise money to upgrade their new facility.

The junior livestock show will now have a home at the county's new multi-purpose building on loop 335.

The livestock show had been held at the West Texas A&M Horse Center.

All equipment needed to host the show will have to be donated.

J.D. Ragland with Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Center has put together several fundraisers to generate money to upgrade the building. "We have been challenged by the Randall County Commissioners Court to raise 100-thousand dollars and those funds will contribute to upgrading the internal portions of the building that will be utilized for the Randall County Livestock Show." said Ragland.

Funds raised will also go towards new animal pens, concession facilities, bleachers and a new sound system.

Right now Texas A&M Agrilife has three fund raisers underway.

Ragland says having a new space will mean a lot to the community. "Not only is it an event where youngsters can showcase their projects and have a livestock show, but it is also a opportunity for many folks in our community to come together and watch those youngsters with their years of hard work that they have done" said Ragland.

They hope to have the money raised in time for the two week long show this January.
