Two injured in motorcycle accident shutting down busy road for hours

LAWTON, Okla._Two motorcyclists were taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon, and one remains in critical condition as of Saturday night, after witnesses told police the two bikers ran a red light at the intersection Sheridan Road and Ferris Avenue.

Police say the incident happened after 5 p.m. Saturday, shutting down a stretch of southbound Sheridan Road for three hours while police worked the scene.

Witnesses say the biker driving a white motorcycle was weaving in and out of traffic before wrecking into the green motorcycle. Police say they were riding together. The driver of the white motorcycle landed in a gold car's rear window. That biker was taken by helicopter to an Oklahoma City hospital with head injuries and a broken leg, according to authorities.

The other biker was treated locally for minor injuries. Police say the driver of the four-door walked away uninjured.
