Tulia's new K-9 helping with area drug busts

Amarillo, TX - Tulia Police Department's new K-9 unit has already made two separate drug busts.

In a recent traffic stop on I-27 K-9 Officer Mirko alerted officers to a duffle bag containing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Justin Souquette-Lopez and Kathryn Havelka, both from San Antonio, were arrested.

Less than a week later, Mirko helped officers locate marijuana cigars hidden inside a vehicle driven by a Tulia resident.

Bryson Montre Session is charged with possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.
