Man arrested for drug paraphernalia after attempted break-in

LAWTON, Okla._An early morning burglary attempt ended when the homeowner's son was arrested.

Police were alerted to a burglary attempt around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday at a home on northeast 35th Street. On their way, officers said they received reports that a man was running with a gun. They caught the suspect, 31-year-old Steven Vance, in Prairie Park off Kingsbriar Drive.

Vance is the homeowner's son and no charges were pressed for the burglary, but he had a small amount of a Xanax bar and drug paraphernalia on him and was arrested for that.
