Fort Sill unveils one-of-a-kind anti-aircraft gun

FORT SILL, Okla._It's the only remaining one in the world and you can see it for yourself at Fort Sill.

The sole existing World War II German flak anti-aircraft gun was unveiled at the Air Defense Artillery museum on post. The weapon took nearly a year to restore and Museum Director and Curator Jonathan Bernstein says it is 99 percent original.

"As a historian, to be able to not only research this and figure things out about it but to dispel myths about it has been incredibly rewarding," said Bernstein.

The gun isn’t not only for display, air defense soldiers will compare it with American systems of the day to learn how air defense technology has evolved over the past 100 years.
