Barstow, Texas - A collision between a water-hauling truck and a freight train in West Texas has injured two people and derailed over a dozen cars and locomotives.
The train was shipping cargo containers from California to Shreveport, Louisiana, when the truck and train collided at a rural crossing.
Union Pacific Railroad spokesman Jeff DeGraff says 10 cars and three locomotives on the eastbound train derailed Sunday afternoon but stayed upright.
DeGraff says the trucker was transported to an Odessa hospital.
A conductor suffered a minor arm injury that did not require medical attention.
Crews worked Monday to repair and reopen the line near Barstow, about 50 miles southwest of Odessa.
