Sheriff: Oklahoma man fatally shot ex-wife, dog

BLANCHARD, Okla. (AP) _ Authorities say an Oklahoma man fatally shot his ex-wife and her dog in front of customers at a convenience store they owned.

The McClain County Sheriff's office says 65-year-old Larry Keeler was charged with first degree murder on Wednesday.

Authorities say they found 57-year-old Gaye Keeler and her dog dead in Gator's Deli in Blanchard Wednesday morning. They say a yearlong protective order against Larry Keeler expired two weeks ago after she had trouble renewing it with the city police department.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says she was working when she was shot. Authorities say Larry Keeler also killed her Australian shepherd named Buck.

Keeler is being held in the McClain County Jail in Purcell. Online jail records didn't indicate bond or an attorney.
