Posted: Updated:
Comanche County, Okla_  New information on Friday's fire that threatened homes in Comanche County.
Fort Sill says the fire did not start on the installation.

Fort Sill firefighters were called to put out some small fires along the railroad tracks near the radar along I-44 near Rogers Lane, and then along the tracks between Post and Elgin.

Some small flames on the eastern range had started but were extinguished by Fort Sill Fire Department.
Ten crews from area fire departments had to scramble to tackle a large blaze near northeast Lake and Goodin Hill Roads.

About two-square miles were burned during the 90 minute fire.

A few buildings were destroyed, but no homes were damaged.
Just before 6:30 Saturday morning the Wichita Mountain Estates Fire Department was called back to the area, because of small rekindling.
