Chickasha Police Chief Resigns

CHICKASHA, Okla._Chickasha Police Chief Eddie Adamson has resigned, according to city officials.

Officers called for his resignation after a racially insensitive Facebook post on his profile.
The post in question comes from a scene from the comedy "Role Models." Chief Adamson shared the video with its original caption which read, "how a real n-word orders Starbucks."

City officials say its clear Adamson did not know that word was used in the caption, and he immediately apologized. However, Officers with the Chickasha Police Department said the chief crossed a line, and he either needed to resign or be relieved of his duties.

A statement from the city will be issued later Thursday.
