Update: Amarillo strip club shut down by U.S. Marshals, new auction date set

Posted: Updated:
Amarillo, TX - The Beaver's strip club in Amarillo that was shut down by the U.S. Marshals now has a new auction date.

The gentlemen's club was officially closed Tuesday, August 19th as part of a levy against the owner, Barry Pour.

A public auction was set for Sept. 2 to pay a court settlement on the back wages Pour owed his employees.

Jeremi Young, the plaintiff's attorney, said the money from the auction will go toward paying more than $318,000 in back wages and fees to former employees.

Young said if the auction doesn't cover the settlement, there is a possibility plaintiffs will target other assets belonging to the strip club owner, such as Cheetahs and Babes.

The new date was set for the auction due to a technicality. The auction will take place Oct. 7.
