Judge rules murder suspect to stand trial

LAWTON, Okla._A Lawton man charged with murder in March 2013 learned he will face trial for the crime.

Robert Menard returned to court Friday for the conclusion of his preliminary hearing in connection to the shooting death of Gino Scott in March 2013. Judge Joe Reeves ruled there was enough evidence for Menard to face trial on the charges of first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a weapon, and shooting with intent to kill. Menard is accused of shooting Scott when he claims he went to Scott's home to buy an assault rifle. Menard was also shot several times in the confrontation.

The judge will announce Menard's trial date within the next 30 days.
