Flames threaten Cache home after car ignites grass

CACHE, Okla._Flames threaten a home in Cache after a car catches fire early Sunday evening.

Crews were called to Paint Road just north of Gore Boulevard around 7 p.m. to a car fully engulfed in flames. Officials say the woman driving the car lost control and struck a concrete boulder.

Once the car ignited, the surrounding grass quickly followed. Crews worked furiously to get the flames out as they traveled north and came within 3 feet of a nearby home. They were able to put the fire out before it reached the house.

The driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital, but her injuries and condition are unknown at this time.
