Police seek Wells Fargo bank robbery suspect

Amarillo, TX - The Amarillo Police Department is searching for a man they say robbed a Wells Fargo bank Wednesday afternoon.

Cpl. Jerry Neufeld says no verbal exchange was had between the suspect and bank teller -- just a note demanding an undisclosed amount of money and an insinuation he had a weapon.

Police are describing the suspect as a black male wearing a white shirt and dark pants. The suspect was also wearing a black hat that police are in custody of after finding it in a nearby area.

Surveillance footage from the bank was released around 3:30 this afternoon.

The suspect was possibly seen in a gray or silver Plymouth or Dodge minivan heading west on Wolflin.

If you have any information about the robbery you are asked to call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
