LAWTON, Okla._A career criminal wanted for eluding local deputies during a high-speed chase is back behind bars.
In July, Comanche County deputies chased Mark Ford through central Lawton. The chase ended near Tomlinson Middle School after Ford allegedly abandoned this car and ran away. Deputies and police searched the area along with a K-9 officer, but never found the suspect until late last week.
Ford was charged Tuesday with attempting to distribute drugs, attempting to elude police, and endangering others in doing so.
Ford has an extensive felony record, he was arrested in 2006 and 2007. At that time Ford was believed to be a leader in gang and drug activity.
