Woman arrested after death of child in her care

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) _ A woman has been charged with abuse after Broken Arrow police say a foster child in her care died Sunday.

Authorities say Mallory Krajian will be jailed on a warrant for child abuse murder. Authorities say her husband, Peter, was also arrested, but on an unrelated charge involving a second child in the couple's care. Both are awaiting transport from the city to the county jail.

Tulsa County court records indicate the couple was also charged Tuesday. It wasn't immediately clear if either had an attorney.

A male foster child in the Krajians' care arrived at a local hospital last week with a head injury, and the 3-year-old died Sunday. Police say Mallory Krajian's explanation of what happened to the child wasn't consistent with the evidence.
