Judge issues gag order on Hruby case

DUNCAN, Okla._An Oklahoma judge has issued a gag order restricting what officials can say about the slayings of a newspaper publisher and his family.

The Oklahoman reports that Stephens County Special Judge Jerry Herberger issued the order for prosecutors, defense attorneys, police and investigators in an effort to make the trial of 19-year-old Alan Hruby fair. He's been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of his mother, father, and teenage sister.

Prosecutors allege Alan Hruby planned to kill his family in hopes of inheriting money to pay off mounting debts, including thousands of dollars he owed to a loan shark.
