Lawton man in jail accused of attacking someone with a hatchet

LAWTON, Okla._A man accused of attacking someone with a hatchet is behind bars Friday night at the Lawton City Jail on an assault charge.

Police arrested Randolph King just before midnight Thursday night near SW

14th Street and D Avenue. The victim said King had gone to his brother's house, threatened to kill his brother with the hatchet, and then left. The victim then confronted king in the street, and that's when king began hitting him with the hammer end of the hatchet. The victim's brother joined in the fight to help him. King told police he was walking when the two men jumped him. The victim and King were both taken to the hospital.

King was then booked into jail for assault with a dangerous weapon and burglary.
