Car ignites after driver runs stop sign

LAWTON, Okla._A pregnant woman was sent to the hospital tonight after her car caught in fire this evening in west Lawton.

It happened around 7:30 Sunday night. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a woman ran a stop sign on 67th and landed into a field. 

When she landed, her car immediately ignited. The woman was able to escape the car without any injury, and crews were able to extinguish the flames quickly. 

The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution because of her pregnancy.
