Cameron drops doubleheader to Midwestern State

The Cameron women's basketball team saw its five-game winning streak snapped at the hands of rival and 22nd-ranked Midwestern State, 79-70 on Saturday afternoon at Aggie Gym.

The Aggies trailed by 41-30 at halftime and quickly fell behind by 18 points early in the second half. CU showed a lot of fight, cutting the deficit to eight points on multiple occasions, but they were never able to get over the hump. Cameron was an abysmal 9-22 at the free throw line on Saturday.

The loss drops Cameron to 9-8, 6-2 in the Lone Star Conference, good for third behind West Texas A&M and Midwestern State.

In the men's game, Midwestern State got out to a double-digit lead early in the second half and never looked back on its way to an 88-77 win over Cameron.

The loss drops the Aggies to 10-9, just 2-5 in Lone Star Conference play.
