Going Dancing: Cameron women headed to NCAA Tournament

For the second time in program history, the Cameron women's basketball team has qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

The Aggies just squeaked into the field as the 8-seed in the South Central region. They'll play 1-seed West Texas A&M in the first round out in Canyon, Texas on Friday.

"You're just excited for the team," head coach Tom Webb said. "All the hard work they've put in and you're waiting all day, and really since Wednesday to see what happens and if the chips fall your way. I'm just proud of them."

West Texas is a very familiar foe for the Aggies. They are in the Lone Star Conference with Cameron. CU fell to the Lady Buffs twice this season, but played them tough in Lawton on Valentines Day. Cameron and West Texas A&M are two of the three LSC teams in the South Central region. Midwestern State is the 3-seed in the region and will play Colorado Christian.

Cameron last went dancing 13 years ago, in 2002. The Aggies finished the 2014-2015 regular season 15-11 and 12-4 in conference play, good for third in the LSC.
