Oklahoma advances to NCAA Tournament Round of 32

3-seed Oklahoma defeated 14-seed Albany 69-60 on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio to advance to Sunday's round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament.

Oklahoma leaned on senior forward TaShawn Thomas, who led the way with 18 points and five rebounds. Big 12 Conference Player of the Year Buddy Hield also chipped in 15 points.

The Sooners led for much of the game but had trouble shaking a pesky Great Danes squad that closed to within six points of OU with under two minutes left in the game. However, Oklahoma executed down the stretch to pull out the victory.

The Tournament win is OU's first since 2009, when the Sooners defeated Syracuse in the Sweet 16. The victory also made Lon Kruger the first coach to win Tournament games at five different schools.
